Political Correctness -149
In Search of a Wisewoman
The term Political Correctness first surfaced in Marxist Leninist vocabulary following the Russian Revolution of 1917 to describe adherence to strict communist policies. Again it was utilized in 1934 Nazi Germany who only granted reporting permission to “only pure Aryans” who opinions were deemed politically correct. The term now applies to using language intended to give the least amount of offense which is laudable as othering is dangerous especially when used as scapegoating. Have we forgotten the Gulags or the Nazi concentration camps where lives were erased by those in power?
We have all grimaced when examples of being “PC” seemed to have resulted in such censorship so no differing opinions were tolerated and worse, stupidity was given as much credence as truth, scientific data and tolerance. Pendulums have a tendency to swing back and forth. The problem with pendulums is when it is not a bob but an axe.
All countries have an official language but the sharpie has now signed off giving a country of immigrants an official language many neither speak or spell in according to the language’s country of origin and that language is being used in the nation of the sharpie-wielder to promote othering and to endorse the use of computer code to dismantle from the inside. Just how politically correct is that? The worst forms of offenses, blowing up that which is beyond his comprehension, while bragging in the language known for its eloquence and its inspiration, leaves the world speechless.
